Labor Day in Columbus

f5The summer is nearly over but there’s one last celebration everyone loves. That’s Labor Day weekend, which falls on the first weekend of September. This year, that is September 2-4th. This three-day weekend gives many people an extra day off to enjoy, especially when kids go back after this last celebratory weekend of the season.

Here, in Columbus, many of us are hosting barbecues and block parties. It’s a good time to decorate with the last of the summer flowers and the start of fall flowers. This provides a beautiful transition plus it’s a great gift to bring to any Labor Day party you are invited to. Wooden table over stone wall

We are excited because our four Columbus flower shops have both summer and flower flowers to use to create some beautiful centerpieces, bouquets, compact arrangements, and more. Here is a sampling of some great Labor Day flower decor:

Groveport Gardens is inspired by the city of Groveport. It includes sunflowers, roses, snapdragons, stock, and button spray chrysanthemums. There are also accents like myrtle, salal, and pittosporum.f3

Orange Fields comes in a wooden Amish basket made in the Columbus area. There is a wide mix of bright orange and yellow flowers.

Pastel Fields shows there is just as much beauty in the softer side of colors. This one also comes in a handcrafted Amish basket and features roses, hydrangea, hypericum berries, and miniature carnations.

Lewis Center Breeze is a mix of bright yellow flowers and sublime white blooms. It provides a nice mix of summer and fall flower varieties. This includes white hydrangea, green carnations, and yellow lilies, gerbera daisies, and chrysanthemums.

Amber Amour is a fall beauty. It showcases sunflowers, gerbera daisies, berries, and hydrangea. Accents include red anthurium and seeded eucalyptus.

Fall Frolic illustrates just how gorgeous the upcoming season can be. This fall flower arrangement has rust-colored calla lilies and football mums along with Queen Anne’s lace, hydrangea, sunflowers, dusty miller and textured broomcorn. All of this is hand-arranged in a unique compote style vase.

Autumn Sunset comes in a keepsake wooden box. Flowers include orange roses, blue thistle, sunflowers, protea and berries. All of this is accented by ivy.Wooden table over stone wall
