Thanksgiving Fun in Columbus

F7It’s that special time of year to enjoy family and friends. Sure, it involves a lot of planning and running around too, but it is all worth it when Thanksgiving comes together and you sit down to enjoy a great meal surrounded by beautiful Thanksgiving flowers.F2

Then, there is the fun of picking up great deals on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. We’ll be open and looking forward to see you come in and shop our new holiday collection, special gifts, and promotional pricing.

Before those holiday shopping events hit though, Columbus turns on the fun of special events that are a great way to carve out more time with family, burn some calories, and do some good for the community.

First, there is the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, which has been a family tradition in the Columbus area for more than 25 years. The Columbus Turkey Trot is on Thanksgiving Day and is hosted by the Whole Foods Market Upper Arlington at the Shops on Lane Avenue. The proceeds will benefit the Make the First Five Count Program and Easter Seals.F3

Each year, it just gets bigger as it was voted as the “Hometown Favorite Race” by Runners World Magazine. There is a five mile and 2.5-mile race where you can run or walk plus a Tot Trot for the younger set. The event also includes music, food, recipes, activities for the kids, demonstrations and much more.F6

For those in Grove City, you can enjoy the city’s 4th Annual Thanksgiving Morning 5K Run. Called the Thanksgiving Wattle, this event starts at 9am. The event is intended to promote health while also providing proceeds for local charities that help support the community. This year’s fundraising target is $12,000. For those participating in the 5K, their dog or family dog is welcome to join in on the fun.

There is also the 700 Yard Primrose Children’s Run for the Pantry starts at 8:30am for children, ten and under. They will get a shirt, cookie, juice and a medal. This is also intended to raise money for local charities.

We’ll see you there!
